Church Safe at Basso Church
Basso has in place Church Safe Polices and Procedures, seeking to make all of our ministries and events safe places to be.
As part of our commitment to creating a safe church environment, we have a number of measures in place:

Church Safe Training
We require all volunteers involved in kids ministries, and all Church Leaders to undertake Church Safe Training. This training includes information on creating safe teams, safe environments, and keeping themselves and people in their care safe. Training sessions are held each year, and volunteers are required to renew training regularly.

Screening Checks for Kids Ministries and Leaders
We have screening checks for all staff and volunteers involved in kids ministries. These checks include:  Volunteer Application Forms, Working With Children checks, and signing a Code of Conduct.

For our Church Leaders and some of our volunteers who have a greater level of trust and responsibility, we ask them to apply for Volunteer National Police Certificates, and sign a Code of Conduct for leaders.

Safe Ministry Representatives
We have two Safe Ministry Representatives at Basso – Alana Borgogno and Zalman Jacques.
These Safe Ministry Representatives are a contact point for people within Church to raise concerns, or report an incident or complaint, specifically regarding abuse or suspected abuse.
You can see our Safe Ministry Representatives in person, or email completed “Matter of Concern” forms to Alana : [email protected]
