St Mark’s Anglican Church (Wilson Street, Bassendean) will be hosting this year’s World Day of Prayer on Friday 1st March. The World Day of Prayer is held annually in over 170 countries, where people come together in prayer for a particular nation, this year, Palestine.
On the first Sunday of each month, we come together for a time of prayer before our morning service. This is a special time to give honour to our great God, thank Him for all he has done for us, and bring our requests before Him. We hope you can join us.
Join us for a Burger and Movie night at Basso, with a showing of the film “Jesus Revolution”.
In the 1970s, Greg Laurie and a sea of young people descend on sunny Southern California to redefine truth through all means of liberation. Inadvertently, Laurie meets a charismatic street preacher and a pastor who open the doors of a church to a stream of wandering youth. What unfolds is a counterculture movement that becomes the greatest spiritual awakening in American history. The movie is rated M due to mature themes and drug references. There will be a kids movie playing in the rear hall for the younger ones.
Funds raised will go toward the building work at church. This will be a great movie to bring your family and friends along to. You can purchase tickets through the attached Trybooking link.
Burger and Movie: 6pm start | $20 Adults $12 kids (5-12)
Tickets also available for movie only.
Ladies – please join us for a lovely Morning Tea, where we will hear from Colleen Kirk and Sam Taffurelli. Sam will share with us on her recent mission trip to Atin, Philippines. Cost is $10 for a lovely morning tea, and small punnets of flowers will be available for sale on the day.
Drumroll please….. Our Easter Fair is back on for 2024!! This is a community event, which we hold each year before Easter – we’ve been on break during COVID and our church build, but we’re back in 24!!. This event is a great way for us to get to know the community around us, and for them to know us! It’s also a great opportunity to hear the Easter story afresh.
Gates open at 4pm, and we’ll serve up a free sausage sizzle at 6pm. Come on down, and enjoy all the free activities, including an animal farm, Easter egg decorating, face painting, a puppet show, and marshmallow toasting. Kids, make sure you register when you arrive, so you get your FREE showbag!
Here’s some more information you may want for the day:
The event starts from 4pm, and usually winds down just after 7pm.
You’re welcome to come and go as you please, and enjoy as many of the activities that you want to.
Everything is FREE on the day, including all of the activities, the animal farm, sausage sizzle (which is served at 6pm) – and we’ll even be having free ice-creams during the event.
We will have people helping to direct you to parking on the day (using street parking and local facilities).
This is a smoke free, alcohol free, and pet-free event.
Our Annual Beach Camp is on again in 2024! We’ll be heading down to the Christian Brethren Campsite at Busselton on Thursday 11th through to Sunday 14th April 2024. We’ll have a number of group activities planned for our time away, and plenty of free time, to enjoy the south west. We hope you can join us in 2024. (NB: This camp usually lines up with Anzac Day, but for 2024, we’re holding the camp at the end of the Term 1 School Holidays).
